This series of paintings grew from my Buckfastleigh ‘From The Wishing Steps’ painting which I started in 2018.

I got really positive feedback from people who loved how the painting captured a favourite view and that they could pick out their own house or maybe their childhood bedroom window.

Particularly during lockdown many people took time to reflect on the beauty in our surroundings, and particularly to appreciate what we have right on our own doorsteps. This time also gave me the focus to do just this and to capture it through my art. The project continues to be a regular theme for my paintings.
